History
Many branches in the Canadian Forces have strong associations for the professional and personal betterment of their members. In 2004, the CIC Circle was formed as the first CIC Branch Association in the country for CIC officers serving in Quebec. The association held regional events throughout the year which culminated in an annual conference and dinner.
In 2011, inspired by the success of the CIC Circle, Lieutenant Colonel Steve Deschamps sought to create the same for BC. Along with 17 other BC officers who volunteered to form the inaugural interim council, the association held its first council meeting on 29 September 2011. Sub-committees were formed to address issues ranging from recruiting to events to financing. The association’s constitution and bylaws were adopted by council in June 2012 and by membership at the inaugural AGM in October 2014.
The association was officially incorporated under the Society Act of BC in April 2016.
